When i came class, i was so surprise because i have the new teacher. The new teacher show me about computer history. First generation (1940 - 1950) : Vacuum Tube. Second Generation (1950 - 1964) : Transistors. Third Generation (1964 - 1974) : Integrated Circuits. Fourth Generation (1974 - Present) : VLSI / ULSI. Fifth generation (now and the future) : Artificial Intelligence. After that, he also talk about computer architecture. Finally, he show me about categories of computers. Categorize based on size, capability and price. There have embedded computers, mobile device, personal computers, midrange servers, mainframes and supercomputers. He give the students some in class activity to memorize about lecture.

Week2
Before the teacher teach me the new lecture, she checks who doesn't create the blog yet. The new lecture is computer hardware basics : Number systems include decimal, binary, octal and hexadecimal. First of all, she talk about decimal number systems. The values of its are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 9. Decimal numbers have a radix of ten. Secondly, she continue to talk about others number systems. There are binary number systems. Binary number systems are different with decimal number systems. Binary just uses 2 digits to form a string of numbers. They are 0 and 1. It has a radix of two. After that, octal number systems are talked as the third number systems. It uses eight numerals, they are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7. Octal numbers have a radix of eight. The last number systems are hexadecimal number systems. It uses sixteen symbols (numerals + letters) to form a string of numbers. They are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D and E. It have a radix of sixteen. The last part of my class is some conversion between binary, decimal, octal and hexadecimal number systems.

Week1
This is the second times i create the blog. I The first blog i create in Yahoo 360 plus. Yesterday, I had the subject : Introduction to Computers and the Internet. The first class was so interesting because i really liked this subject. I got in touch with computer when i was 11 years old. But i know that computer and the internet are so big. That's why my major is networking in AIU. I came to AIU for 10 months and i saw that AIU was the best university to study. AIU is the new school so it has some trouble about system but i don't mention it. By the way, the teacher talked about lecture schedule and assessment components. She also taught me how to create the blog, the meaning of ICT. ICT is Information and Communication Technology. The last lecture she taught me about computer. What is a computer? And i also know about computer operation. Basic operation that a computer can perform include input, processing, output and storage. The teacher also talked about the different between hardware and software. She gave me some exercise to do. After that, i finish the class and go back my hostel.
